Goal 1: Increasing student success and academic excellence through student-centered instruction, student-centered support services, and dynamic technologies. Goal 2: Increasing equity in successful outcomes by analyzing gaps in student achievement and using this to identify and implement effective models and programs to remedy these gaps. Goal 3: Sustaining community-centered access, participation, and preparation that improves the college’s presence in the community.
"start at ELAC... go anywhere!"
It shall be the mission of this organization to uphold the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields in the East Los Angeles community. Through networks and resources offered by the various East Los Angeles College (ELAC) programs such as the Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) Program, we shall focus on strengthening the culture of the STEM community, nurturing them through, and helping them reach their highest potential.
The mission of the Engineering Club is to motivate aspiring engineering and technology students to continue with their educational pathways. Encourage and activate engagement in the STEM field and provide academic development, professional development, leadership development, chapter/club development, outreach opportunities, and technical experience growth.
The vision of the Engineering Club is to prepare individuals to become practicing STEM professionals leaving behind a legacy that the future generation can look up to as role models.
Our mission as the East Los Angeles College Robotics Club is to provide students with an opportunity to explore their interests in the STEM fields by allowing them to participate in hands-on projects. We are an inclusive club that does not require any experience or knowledge to join, but simply an interest in the field and a thirst to learn. We hope that our members not only gain technical experience while working on projects, but also learn what it is like to work in a team and form camaraderie. Our club ultimately seeks to enhance the student experience by giving our members useful tools to become competitive professionals in their respective fields.
The purpose of this student chapter is to increase the number of ELAC students in the STEM fields, by introducing and enhancing opportunities for our peers in all fields of STEM. Promote exposure of the science fields through community education in Hispanic and other underrepresented communities. Create, endorse, and participate in science related community service through volunteer activities. Provide a forum for the exchange of information pertinent to all science students enrolled at East Los Angeles College. Provide information for students transferring to a university.
